TEKKNI SELDE 38-0170-30 combines a 3 m silver aluminium profile with a frosted S14 diffuser. Side flanges sit over the edges of a prepared groove. Designed for recessed installation, the profile allows a lighting line to become part of a furniture surface rather than a separate raised strip.
The housing parts supplied
The package contains one SELDE profile, one S14 polycarbonate diffuser and four plastic SELDE end caps. These are housing components for an LED strip, not a finished luminaire with its own light source. An LED strip and power supply are not included in the manufacturer's stated contents.
The frosted diffuser identifies this particular variant. Transparent and milky covers belong to other versions in the same family and should not be treated as interchangeable finishes when ordering. When selecting additional parts, the SELDE system and S14 cover designations matter more than a matching silver colour alone.
Planning the recessed channel
The profile is 21 mm wide overall, with a 16 mm body width and an overall height of 7.2 mm. Its internal channel is 14.2 mm wide. Compare the intended groove with the cross-section drawing before machining the furniture: the width across the flanges is not the width of the body that enters the groove.
The manufacturer specifies press-fitting into a prepared recess and double-sided tape as mounting techniques. The power supply is positioned outside the profile, so allow for its location and cable routing when planning the furniture installation.
Lighting integrated into cabinetry
SELDE is intended for kitchens and display areas, including cabinets, countertops and other work surfaces. Its straight section and narrow side edges suit modern, minimalist cabinetry. The separately selected LED strip determines the finished installation's light colour, power and brightness; these are not fixed by the profile itself.
