TORNADO C0236 is a round ceiling light 48 cm across and only 6.5 cm deep, in white metal. The proportions matter: at nearly half a metre across it stands off the ceiling by the thickness of a hand, so it does not visually lower the room.

3440 lumens — this is main lighting

40 W gives 3440 lumens, enough for this single fitting to light a 15–20 m² room as the only source. At 3000 K the colour is warm — close to a classic incandescent, easy in the evening, but noticeably less "office" than 4000 K. A large output with a warm colour suits a living room or bedroom; for work with colour a neutral tone would serve better.

Mounting

The fitting is surface-mounted — fixed directly to the ceiling, with no recess. The LED driver is supplied and housed inside the body, so no space has to be found above the ceiling for a separate module. The construction is metal in white, and IP20 places it in dry rooms.

Before you buy

The LED source is permanently integrated and cannot be replaced — when the diodes reach end of life the whole fitting is changed. The model is not dimmable, so it should not be paired with a wall dimmer. The energy class is G, which at 3440 lumens from 40 W (86 lm/W) reflects efficacy typical of decorative rather than technical fittings.
