V-TAC LED Floodlight 30W SMD E-Series White VT-4031 6500K 2510lm

The VT-4031 from V-TAC's E-Series is a flat, rectangular LED floodlight in a white housing measuring 15.3 × 13.2 cm and 2.7 cm deep. It weighs 0.31 kg. A U-shaped bracket is bolted to the back, with one screw on each side; those set the tilt once the fitting is fixed to a wall or a post.

How much light it gives, and in what colour

The floodlight draws 30 W and delivers 2510 lm, roughly what three old 60 W bulbs used to give. The colour temperature is 6500 K — a cold white with a distinctly bluish cast — spread over a 100° beam, so it washes a wide strip of ground in front of it rather than a point in the distance.

Colour rendering is Ra 70, and the EU EPREL registry records an R9 red component of −24 for this model. Colours under this light, reds in particular, look visibly shifted — this is a fitting for lighting ground and a driveway, not for places where colours have to be right. The diodes are built in and cannot be replaced; the manufacturer quotes 25,000 hours, which at three hours a day works out at about 22 years. The floodlight cannot be dimmed, and reaches full brightness the moment it is switched on.

Where it can be mounted

An IP65 rating means full dust protection and resistance to water jets, so the fitting works outdoors with no additional cover. The manufacturer intends it for driveways, gardens, sports grounds and car parks, and for lighting signage. The stated operating range is −20 to +45 °C — a limit worth comparing with the temperatures recorded where it is to be installed. Impact resistance of IK06 corresponds to a 1 J blow.

It runs on 220–240 V at 50 Hz, and the driver sits inside the housing, so no separate ballast is needed. The connection is registered as an L/N/G cable, meaning it carries an earth conductor and needs an earthed installation. There is no motion sensor inside, but the fitting works with an external one if the light is to switch itself on.

Build

The body is an aluminium alloy, which carries heat away from the diodes and does not corrode outdoors. The glass is seated in a silicone rubber gasket, which keeps the housing tight. On the current A–G energy label the floodlight is class F, with consumption stated as 30 kWh per 1000 hours.
