V-TAC VT-8618S is a round surface-mounted LED ceiling light with a black frame. Its diameter is 295 mm and its height is 60 mm. The PP and PMMA body creates a low profile at the ceiling. The fitting has an integrated LED source, so it does not use a separate replaceable screw-base bulb.
Light and sensor
The 18 W LED source delivers 1830 lm at 4000 K. This is neutral white light. The model has a microwave sensor that responds to movement and can control the fitting according to its settings. The manufacturer states instant start, a 20,000-hour lifetime and more than 15,000 switching cycles.
The instruction manual describes adjustment of detection range, hold time and ambient-light threshold. These settings should be made after installation with the conditions of the specific location in mind. A microwave sensor is not a simple wall switch: its operation depends on settings and conditions within the detection zone.
Installation data
VT-8618S operates on 220–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. IP44 denotes protection against splashing water. Power must be disconnected before installation and connection should be carried out by a suitably qualified person. The official instructions show installation at about 3 m height and a maximum detection distance up to 10 m, depending on settings.
The fitting has a black body, round shape and CRI above 80. Product weight is 0.732 kg. Neutral light and its flat housing make it suitable to consider for a corridor, entrance or another indoor location needing automatic light, after installation conditions have been checked.
Before choosing the position, check whether ceiling construction elements can affect sensor operation and whether the 295 mm diameter retains clearance from other equipment. Manufacturer dimensions describe the fitting housing. The sensor should not be covered and the fitting should not be covered with materials that restrict heat dissipation.
