Nowodvorski MALMO 10457 gold wall light 2×GU10

Nowodvorski MALMO 10457 is a gold-coloured wall light with a slim, rectangular aluminium body. Openings at the top and bottom let light fall onto the wall in two directions, while the solid front conceals the lamps when viewed straight on. This produces a different effect from a fitting with exposed bulbs or a broad shade.

A narrow profile, 30 cm high

The fitting measures 30 cm high and 6 cm wide, with a projection of 10 cm from the wall. Its narrow front takes up little horizontal space, but check more than the available wall area before installation. Allow for people passing the fitting and for nearby doors opening towards it. These are the dimensions of the light itself, not its packaging.

Straight edges and an uninterrupted gold-coloured surface suit a modern or minimalist arrangement. The manufacturer also places this version in the glamour style category. Here the decorative emphasis comes from the finish rather than elaborate arms, ornament or a shaped lampshade.

Two replaceable lamps, supplied separately

MALMO requires two GU10 R50 lamps, which are not included. The manufacturer specifies a maximum wattage of 10 W and LED sources only. Check the cap, lamp format and permitted wattage when choosing bulbs; a GU10 designation alone does not establish that every lamp with that cap will fit.

Colour temperature and brightness depend on the lamps you select. The gold-coloured housing does not specify a warm light colour. Up-and-down illumination can supplement the main lighting in a living room, bedroom or dining space, or draw attention to the wall in a hallway. It should not be confused with directed reading or desk lighting.

Plan the connection and switching

This indoor fitting mounts directly to the wall, operates on 220–230 V and is rated electrical protection class I. It has no built-in switch. The installation position therefore needs to account for both the electrical supply and the room's switching arrangement. Beside a bed, in particular, access to an external switch matters as much as the position of the light.
