Mario is a wall light with a compact oval metal body, open at the top and at the bottom. The outside is matt black and the whole inside is painted gold. The fitting throws light in two directions at once — a wash up the wall and a wash down it.
How big it is and where to put it
The body is 16 cm wide, 7.8 cm high and projects 8 cm from the wall. That is the figure to compare with the clear strip of wall where the light is to go — at 8 cm of projection it does not get in the way in a narrow hallway or beside a door frame.
The whole fitting weighs 0.4 kg, so it needs no fixing into structure behind and ordinary wall plugs will do. It runs on 230 V mains and connects to a normal installation, with no driver.
What light it gives and which lamp to buy
Inside there is a single G9 socket, rated for an LED lamp of up to 5 W. No lamp is supplied, so colour and brightness are your choice; the manufacturer recommends its own lamp, article G13036.
The lamp sits in the middle of the body and the light leaves only through the two oval openings — there is no diffuser to spread it sideways. The gold interior reflects the light before it leaves, so both washes come out warmer in tone than the lamp itself. The fitting can be dimmed, but the lamp decides that: you need a light source described as dimmable and a dimmer in the circuit.
Where it works
Light aimed up and down picks out the plane of the wall and marks a route, rather than lighting a whole room. The manufacturer points Mario at living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms as well as hotel and restaurant interiors; the same behaviour suits a hallway or a stairwell, where orientation matters more than brightness.
The form is modern and modernist: an oval with no ornament, uniform matt black outside and a gold accent visible only from below and above. The fitting is meant for dry interiors — the manufacturer publishes no IP rating for it.
