Aberdeen Chandelier - 6 Lights - Distressed Grey Wood Effect & Old Bronze Elstead

The Kichler Aberdeen chandelier has six arms with candle-style sockets radiating from a central column, surrounded by a ring of upright posts finished to look like distressed grey wood, with panes of thick, clear water glass with wavy edges set between them. The fittings are finished in old bronze. It is distributed by Elstead Lighting.

Size and suspension

The chandelier is 71.1 cm across with a 66 cm tall body — a piece for a dining room with a table for six to eight or a living room with a higher ceiling. It hangs from a 182.9 cm chain; the overall height of 76 to 254 cm is set during installation. Over a 75 cm table under a 250 cm ceiling the lower edge of the glass sits 70–80 cm above the top, an overall height of about 95–105 cm; with a lower ceiling the tall body may prove too big.

At 13.4 kg it needs a hook anchored in a load-bearing ceiling. It is Class I with an earth conductor.

Bulbs and light

Six E14 sockets take bulbs of up to 40 W; no bulbs are supplied. The glass ring is clear but rippled, so light passes through with reflections and the bulbs stay visible — the manufacturer shows the chandelier with filament bulbs. Six LED bulbs of about 470 lm give about 2800 lm together, enough for a dining room or average living room. With dimmable bulbs and a dimmer they can be turned down.

Style

A classic candle-chandelier form combined with imitation old wood and raw glass gives a classic style with rustic character. The Aberdeen series also has a linear three-shade island light.
