Ariel Wall Sconce - 1 Light Source - Matte Black by Elstead

Ariel is an Alora Mood wall light made of two simple shapes: an upright, round-ended plate in matt black steel, like a capsule, and a flattened globe of matt white opal glass set into its upper part.

Dimensions

The light is 32 cm high and 14.2 cm wide, and projects 12.1 cm from the wall; it weighs 1.3 kg. The shallow projection keeps it out of the way in a passage — the manufacturer intends it for hallways as well as living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms.

It is an indoor Class I fitting and needs an earth connection.

Bulb and light

The glass houses an E27 socket intended for a small, round golfball bulb of up to 40 W — it is not included. The matt opal glass spreads the light across the whole globe and hides the bulb, so the light gives a soft, even glow rather than a sharp point. It is compatible with dimmable bulbs.

Form

The smooth black capsule paired with a milky globe makes a modern, geometric form without ornament. Matt black barely reflects, so the pale globe stands out clearly against the wall.
