Black LED pendant light V-TAC VT-7832 9 W 4000 K

The V-TAC VT-7832 is a black pendant light with a metal body, a broad flat shade and a small conical element below it. The shade is 30 cm in diameter and the complete fitting is 140 cm high. A slim cable links it to the cylindrical ceiling canopy, allowing the shade width and the full drop to be checked separately against the space above a surface or the clear height of the room before purchase.

Light from the integrated LED module

The built-in LEDs draw 9 W and produce 1000 lm. This is slightly above the reference output of about 800 lm from an old 60 W incandescent bulb, while the 120° beam distributes light more broadly than a narrow-beam fitting. A colour temperature of 4000 K produces a neutral white without a distinctly yellow or cool blue cast.

Colour rendering is rated at Ra 80 and the EPREL record gives an R9 value of 11. Basic colours are therefore rendered at a typical general-lighting level, although saturated reds can appear less faithful. EPREL also lists PstLM 1.0 and SVM 0.9. These figures allow flicker and stroboscopic effect to be compared with other light sources; a lower result indicates less temporal light modulation.

Installation and control

A metal mounting bracket sits beneath the ceiling canopy, as shown in the rear view. The fitting connects to an AC 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz supply, so installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician with the power isolated and in accordance with the instructions. The light is not dimmable and operates at a fixed brightness. Its IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

Light source and expected lifetime

The LED source is integrated into the fitting, so there is no separate bulb or cap type to select. The documentation does not describe a replaceable bulb, meaning no additional light source is needed for first use. V-TAC states a 20,000-hour lifetime, more than 15,000 switching cycles and a two-year warranty. The manufacturer lists residential interiors, hotels, restaurants, offices and commercial premises as intended settings.
