BOX SL 2 is a surface-mounted ceiling spot shaped as a rectangular aluminium box finished in matt black. Two round reflectors sit side by side in the underside; apart from them the body carries no ornament at all — a single screw is visible on the side wall. The fitting belongs to the Box SL series and is catalogued as 90433.

How big it is and how it is mounted

The box is 24 cm long and 12 cm wide, and it stands 12 cm clear of the ceiling. Compare those figures with the space you have above a worktop or a coffee table: the fitting takes up a strip of ceiling roughly the size of a sheet of A4, and at that depth it is clearly visible from the side as well.

Mounting is surface — the housing screws onto the ceiling and stays in view, so no cut-out and no suspended ceiling are needed. The fitting runs on an ordinary 230 V supply.

How much light it gives and which lamps to buy

The box takes two lamps with a G9 cap, each rated up to 42 W. That is the fitting's ceiling, not its consumption: with two G9 LED lamps the actual draw is several times lower. Lamps are not included, so you choose the colour and the brightness yourself — for a living room or a dining room 2700–3000 K is the usual pick, meaning warm, slightly yellow light.

Both lamps sit in round reflectors facing straight down, and the housing, closed on top and on all sides, lets no light onto the ceiling. The output therefore lands on the surface below the fitting instead of spreading around the room — which is why it is worth placing the fitting above whatever needs to be lit.

Build

The body is aluminium, painted a uniform matt black, with sharp edges and flat faces. The absence of a shade and of any ornament is what places this fitting among modern forms: against a light ceiling it reads as a compact dark rectangle.
