The CobaltElectro ZPV-10-12 is a constant-voltage LED power supply with a 12 V DC output and a rated output of 10 W. Its narrow white housing has wires at opposite ends, separating the power input from the connection to the lighting circuit. This is the 12 V version of the ZPV family, identified by article code 23-1113-12.

Match the circuit, not just the wattage

This unit supplies equipment designed for a constant 12 V input. It is not a substitute for the 24 V version or for a constant-current LED driver. The manufacturer specifies a rated output current of 0.84 A. Check the total connected load against the supply's capacity, taking account of the operating conditions described in its documentation.

The output polarity is marked on the housing: red is V+ and black is V−. These markings distinguish the low-voltage side from the input wires. The power supply itself does not determine the light's colour temperature or brightness; those properties depend on the connected lighting.

Allow room for the housing and wiring

The body measures 130 × 26 × 22 mm. Compare these dimensions with the available installation space and allow for the leads, specified at approximately 300 mm on each side. The mechanical drawing shows mounting tabs at the ends of the housing, and the documentation recommends horizontal mounting.

Cooling relies on free air circulation. Choosing an installation position therefore involves more than checking whether the slim body fits into a gap: heat must also be able to dissipate during operation.

IP67 with defined placement limits

The unit has an IP67 protection rating and Class II insulation. The manufacturer permits indoor use and outdoor use without direct sunlight exposure, while warning against immersion in water for longer than 30 minutes. The housing's rating does not establish the water protection of the complete installation or its connections.

The documentation lists short-circuit, overload, overvoltage and overtemperature protection. A five-year manufacturer's warranty is stated for the ZPV-10 series.
