Ortona is a single-lamp E14 wall light with a backplate in matt antique brass effect and a shade in vintage white faux silk. 28.3 cm tall, projecting 23.4 cm from the wall.

A switch on the fitting – appreciated after the fact

Ortona has an on/off toggle switch built into the base. It is a detail that changes how the light gets used: no dedicated circuit with a wall switch is needed, and beside a bed or an armchair you turn it off by hand without getting up.

In practice it also means the fitting can go on a permanently live circuit – the control is on the light itself. In a renovation without chasing walls, that often decides whether a light in that position is possible at all.

Antique brass and a white shade

Backplate and arm are finished in matt antique brass – a warm, muted gold without gloss that throws no point reflection and does not look freshly polished. Paired with the white faux silk shade the combination is classic without being heavy: the metal warm, the fabric cool and bright.

Fabric diffuses light softly and glows through the shade wall too, so the fitting does not only light downwards but lifts the wall around it. That is characteristic of a textile shade and a real difference from glass or metal.

Lamp: E14, not included

This is the thing to plan before buying. The fitting has an E14 socket rated to 40 W and no lamp is supplied. The manufacturer recommends E14 LED filament candle lamps – in a fabric shade the shape of the lamp shows against the light, so a filament looks better here than a typical LED "corn" lamp.

Dimming is possible but depends on the lamp and the dimmer – there is no control gear in the fitting. To dim Ortona you need a lamp marked dimmable and a dimmer matched to its type.

Installation

Class I – the fitting requires an earth conductor. IP20: dry rooms, outside bathroom zones. About 1 kg is within an ordinary plasterboard anchor, though the fixing should suit the wall material.

The 23.4 cm projection is worth checking against the location – beside a bed or in a narrow hallway that is how far the fitting actually stands out.

Ortona is also made as a 3-light and a 5-light pendant in the same finish. If the wall light needs to sit with the main lighting in the same room, the set exists without hunting for lookalikes across brands.
