HELIOS C0496-04G-F7AC is a flush ceiling light built from two rings filled with upright, clear crystal bars. The bars are set in a gold-finished metal frame, and the outline of both rings is a rounded triangle: the lower ring is narrower, the upper one wider.
How much ceiling it takes up
The whole body fits inside a circle 44 cm across and stands 17.9 cm tall. The fitting sits flat against the ceiling, so unlike a pendant it takes no height off the room — it can go above a walkway or in a room with a low ceiling.
The crystal bars are clear rather than frosted. With the light off, the fitting therefore does not read as a solid dark patch on the ceiling the way an opaque shade does.
What light it gives and what you need to buy
The fitting takes four G9 bulbs and runs on 230 V mains. Bulbs are not included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself — living rooms and bedrooms are usually fitted with 2700–3000 K, a warm, slightly yellow light.
Because the bars are clear, the bulbs are visible through them, and the cut crystal edges refract the light and throw bright highlights onto the ceiling. Bulbs with an evenly lit envelope work better here than ones with a visible point filament. The manufacturer does not provide for dimming this fitting.
Materials and finish
The frame is metal in a gold finish and both rings are filled with crystal. Gold metal combined with cut, clear crystal makes the lamp a piece of ceiling decoration in its own right rather than a neutral light point.
