Fusion wall lamp - 1 light source - Painted natural brass Elstead

Fusion is a single-light wall light by Feiss (Generation Lighting), distributed by Elstead Lighting. A cylindrical shade of white, ribbed opal glass is wrapped in metal bands, and a stepped, geometric art deco frame rises above and below the shade. The frame is steel, painted in a natural brass colour (Painted Natural Brass) – a paint finish rather than solid brass, with an even, matt tone.

Size and place on the wall

The wall light is 38.7 cm tall and 14.3 cm wide, and it projects only 10.2 cm from the wall. That shallow profile keeps it out of the way in a hallway, on a staircase or beside a bed, while the tall, narrow outline fills a vertical stretch of wall well, for example between a window and a door. It weighs 2 kg.

The Fusion range also includes a two-light wall light, pendants and a semi-flush ceiling light in the same finish, so a whole room can be lit from one family. The maker names the living room and dining area as intended settings; the fitting is for indoor use only.

Light

It has one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W. No bulb is included. The opal glass is milky and opaque, so it spreads the light evenly and hides the bulb itself – the bulb's shape does not matter, only its colour and brightness. A 2700 K lamp gives warm light that brings out the colour of the frame, and around 800 lm is enough for the wall light to give real supplementary light rather than a purely decorative glow.

The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps – dimming needs a bulb sold as dimmable and a dimmer. It runs on 230 V mains, and as a Class I fitting it needs the protective earth conductor connected to the earth terminal.
