The Gea Luce GES1111 is a brown garden bollard with a single cylindrical lamp head mounted beside a slender upright body. Die-cast aluminium and a clear glass cover give it a simple, modern form rather than the decorative silhouette of a traditional lantern.
Check the footprint and lighting direction
The bollard stands 70 cm high and has a circular base measuring 10 cm across. The manufacturer's drawing gives the head a diameter of 5.5 cm and a length of 11 cm. Compare these measurements with the proposed position beside a garden path or terrace, allowing for the head projecting to one side.
The drawing marks a head rotation range of 0–350°. This lets you align the lighting direction with a particular part of the surroundings. A single headed fitting is different from a lantern distributing light all around its post. When planning several bollards, consider the characteristics of the chosen lamps as well as the spacing between their bases.
Choose the GU10 lamp for the task
GES1111 accepts one GU10 light source rated at no more than 7 W. That figure is the lamp power limit, not a brightness rating. Light colour, luminous flux and beam angle depend on the source fitted. Check those specifications when choosing the lamp, especially if the intention is to illuminate a defined section of an access path.
Prepare the outdoor connection
The fitting uses 220–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz and has IP65 protection and electrical protection class I. The assembly instructions require installation by qualified personnel and an IP65 terminal block, which is not supplied with the fitting. Disconnect the mains before carrying out any work.
Its brown finish and restrained geometry suit modern gardens and terrace edges. For cleaning, the manufacturer specifies a damp cloth with mild detergent followed by gentle drying. Keep water and detergent away from cables and electrical components during maintenance.
