Grand Bank is a wall light by Kichler, distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting. A round brushed aluminium backplate carries an arm and, on it, an upright ring in a Distressed Antique Grey finish whose surface resembles weathered wood. Inside the ring sits a cylindrical shade of clear seeded glass with fine air bubbles.
Where it can be mounted
The manufacturer classes the fitting as suitable for exterior use, rated IP44. That means protection against splashing water from any direction: it works on a façade beside the front door, ideally under eaves or a canopy, and in a bathroom too. Indoors it suits a living room or dining room just as well.
The fitting is Class I, so it must be connected to the protective earth conductor — one of the things to check in the junction box when installing it outdoors.
Dimensions
The wall light is 26.1 cm tall and 20.6 cm wide and projects 23.8 cm from the wall. The round backplate is 13.3 cm in diameter — that is the figure to compare with the space on your wall and with the junction box it needs to cover. The fitting weighs 1.1 kg.
Light source
It takes one E14 lamp of up to 40 W. The lamp is not included. The shade is clear, so the bulb stays visible — candle bulbs, including filament ones, suit it well, and you choose the colour temperature yourself. The fitting can be dimmed if you use a dimmer and a lamp marked as dimmable.
The seeded glass diffuses the light slightly and throws small reflections onto the wall. Its rustic character comes from pairing pale, cool aluminium with the grey wood-textured ring, which suits farmhouse-style homes and interiors built around natural materials. The Grand Bank range also includes a pendant, a semi-flush ceiling light and a chandelier.
