Isla Table Lamp - White Ceramic, Celadine Yellow Shade, Polished Nickel Elstead

Isla is a table lamp from Elstead Lighting's own range, with a glossy white ceramic base in a gourd shape – two stacked, rounded forms. The base stands on a polished nickel foot and is topped by a tapered drum shade in laminated faux silk, in the Celadine Yellow shade colour.

Size and placement

The lamp is 64 cm high and the shade is 36 cm in diameter. Compare the shade diameter with the depth of the surface it will stand on – on a narrow console or shelf the shade will overhang the edge. The whole lamp weighs 5.1 kg.

It runs from a wall socket via a plug, so no electrician is needed to install it. It is a Class I appliance, which means an earthed cable and a plug for an earthed socket.

Lamp and dimming

The lamp has one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W. The bulb is not included, so you choose its colour and brightness yourself. The manufacturer states that the lamp works with dimmable smart bulbs – the brightness is then controlled by the bulb itself, for example from a phone app.

Finish and variants

White ceramic, nickel and a plain shade give the lamp a classic character suited to a home study or an office. The same base with nickel metalwork is also available with Liberty Blue, Beetroot Red and Mallard Teal shades, and a separate set of variants has aged brass metalwork.
