Keter Lighting Luce Black Silver 2058 Ceiling Light – Black and Chrome, 3xE27

The Luce Black Silver 2058 is a three-arm ceiling light: a rigid rod runs from a round ceiling plate to a central hub, from which three downward-curving arms extend, each ending in a chrome sleeve and a black cylindrical metal shade. The frame is black with chrome details and the shades are black. The light is made in Poland by Keter Lighting.

Dimensions and where to fit it

The fitting measures 43 × 43 cm in plan and 32 cm in height from the ceiling. With a 250 cm ceiling, the bottom of the shades sits at about 218 cm, so it also suits lower rooms or a hallway, where a pendant on a long cable would hang too low. The 43 cm width is the figure to compare with the area the light needs to cover.

Bulbs and light

Each of the three arms has an E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W. Bulbs are not included. The shades are metal and open at the bottom, so the light falls downwards beneath each arm, while the ceiling and walls are lit only by reflection. With three points, brightness depends on the bulbs you choose: three LED bulbs of about 800 lm each, the equivalent of old 60 W bulbs, give around 2400 lm in total — enough for main lighting in a medium-sized room. The fitting has no dimming function of its own.

Which interiors and which range

The manufacturer classes the light as modern and intends it for living rooms, kitchens, hallways and restaurants. The plain, geometric black-and-chrome construction has no ornament, and the chrome sleeves by the shades are its only shiny accent. In the Luce range Keter Lighting also makes pendants with one to five lights, as well as Black, Black Gold and Black Wood versions, so several fittings from one family can be combined — for example a ceiling light in the hallway and a pendant over the table.
