Paul Neuhaus Q-KATE 6589-95 is an LED ceiling light built around two overlapping rings. Slim outlines, a steel-coloured finish and a central mounting point create an open composition without hanging shades. This version is 96.4 cm long and offers adjustable brightness as well as a choice of white-light colour temperature.
A broad outline close to the ceiling
The overall footprint is 96.4 × 60 cm, with a height of 5.2 cm. That makes it an alternative to a suspended fitting when you want a distinct ceiling feature without a shade hanging down. Compare the full footprint with the intended mounting area before ordering: a shallow fitting does not necessarily occupy a small area.
The rings differ in diameter and intersect around the central mounting point. Their light bands follow the circular outlines, keeping the geometry visible when illuminated. The exact supplier record lists metal and rubber as the materials. Steel finish describes the colour, rather than claiming that every component is made from steel.
Choose brightness and white-light temperature
The LED sources are included, so this version does not require you to choose two separate screw-base bulbs. Source data gives a power rating of 42 W and a luminous flux of 4440 lm. Flux is useful for comparing fittings, but it cannot on its own predict the illumination at every point in your room. Mounting height and the layout also matter.
Remote control provides dimming and colour-temperature adjustment from 2700 to 5000 K. You can move from warm white towards cooler white rather than committing to one fixed white tone at purchase. Adjustable white-light temperature should not be confused with RGB coloured lighting.
Open geometry for general lighting
The restrained rings suit modern and minimalist interiors. Consider Q-KATE for general lighting in a living room, bedroom, dining room or study. In a kitchen, it does not replace separate worktop lighting. If positioned above a table, the rings remain close to the ceiling rather than hanging at the lower level of a pendant shade.
ZigBee and luminaire output
The included Q remote controls brightness and colour temperature, while memory retains settings. The fitting can join a compatible ZigBee system. App or voice control requires a compatible hub or gateway chosen separately. The complete light consumes 42 W and delivers 2200 lm of effective output; this is light leaving the finished fitting, distinct from the output of its LED modules.
