MATI 12380 Table Lamp by Nowodvorski

Nowodvorski MATI 12380 is a black table lamp with a cylindrical fabric shade and a painted steel base. Narrow sections alternate with a rounded central widening, giving the stem a sculpted outline above its circular foot. The plain drum shade provides a geometric counterpoint to the more decorative shape below it.

Allow room for the whole shade

MATI measures 57.5 cm high and 35 cm wide. Compare both measurements with your chest of drawers, console or side table, including the space above the surface. On a bedside table, allow for the width of the shade rather than judging the space needed only by the smaller base. This also helps you assess how much room will remain for other objects.

The freestanding format lends itself to supplementary lighting in a living room, bedroom or study. A dining-room sideboard or hallway console offers another possible position, while the same furniture-top role is possible in a hotel room. These suggestions follow from the lamp's construction and dimensions, rather than from a staged photograph. Check the available surface and the position of your socket when choosing a location.

Choose one E27 bulb separately

A single E27 holder accepts a replaceable bulb rated at no more than 10 W. The bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately within that limit and with a compatible voltage. Brightness and colour temperature depend on the bulb you select; neither is a fixed specification of this version of MATI.

The lamp operates from a 220–230 V mains supply. Its instructions show fitting the shade, screwing in the bulb, connecting the plug and operating the switch on the cable. The package contains the luminaire and instructions. The manufacturer specifies indoor use, so this is not a lamp for outdoor placement.

The black textile shade and steel base form a single-colour composition. A traditionally profiled stem beneath a straightforward cylinder gives MATI its modern-classic character without added ornament. Switch the lamp off and let it cool before cleaning, keep moisture away from electrical parts and avoid solvents.
