Maytoni Irving wall light T163-01-C E27 – black, smoked glass

Maytoni Irving T163-01-C is a wall light with a smoked-glass shade, black metal fittings and brass-coloured details. Its open shade widens towards the lower rim, leaving the bulb visible. A short loop of cable above the socket and exposed connections give this particular version its industrial appearance.

Allow for the projection from the wall

The complete fitting measures 27 cm high and 20 cm wide, with a projection of 25 cm. That last measurement matters beside furniture or a walking route: the relatively narrow front view does not mean the light sits flat against the wall. The manufacturer's installation drawing shows a circular wall base measuring 10 cm in diameter.

It can provide supplementary wall lighting in a living room, bedroom or dining area. Its exposed details also suit industrially styled hotel and restaurant interiors. When deciding the mounting position, compare the whole outline of the light with nearby furniture, rather than allowing space only for the wall base.

One E27 socket rather than an integrated LED

Irving takes one E27 bulb rated at no more than 40 W. Brightness and colour temperature depend on the chosen bulb, so the wattage limit is not a statement of actual light output. The bulb's shape also contributes to the appearance because it remains visible through the smoked glass. Maytoni lists the fitting as non-dimmable.

Smoked glass with an industrial framework

The round black mounting plate, visible metal connections and brass-coloured accents work with loft and industrial interiors. The smoked shade distinguishes this article from Irving versions with other glass colours. Installation involves fixing the fitting to the wall and connecting it to the electrical wiring, including the protective earth conductor shown in the instructions. It should not be planned as a portable plug-in lamp. Check the intended electrical connection point and the available projection space before settling on its location.
