Milo table lamp - 1 light source - White / Aged Brass / Green shade Elstead

Milo is a table lamp from Elstead Lighting's own range: a white glazed ceramic base shaped like a rounded vase with a tall neck, metal details in an aged brass finish and a 14-inch (36 cm) drum shade. The shade fabric carries the Reflection Thyme pattern — a green, ribbed texture that close up looks like vertical fibres.

Size and placement

The lamp stands 69 cm tall including the shade and is 36 cm wide, so it needs a circle of about 36 cm on the surface. It weighs 5.1 kg, and the heavy ceramic base with a brass ring at the bottom keeps it steady. Compare these dimensions with the bedside table, chest of drawers or desk it will stand on: on a 40 cm deep top the shade reaches almost to the edge.

It runs from a wall socket via a plug, and according to the catalogue data it is switched with an inline switch on the cable, so no electrician is needed. The lamp is Class I and intended for indoor use only.

Bulb and light

The lamp has one E27 holder for a bulb of up to 60 W, which is not included. Elstead recommends a classic clear E27 A60 LED bulb: 8 W, 800 lm and 3000 K, which matches the brightness of an old 60-watt bulb in warm white. The fabric shade on a laminated backing keeps its drum shape and directs the light mainly upwards and downwards, onto the surface below the lamp.

The manufacturer describes the lamp as compatible with dimmable smart bulbs — the fitting itself has no dimmer, so brightness is adjusted with a bulb controlled from an app or remote.

Milo is a classic table lamp form: a ceramic vase, brass details and a fabric shade. It works in a living room, a bedroom or a home office.
