Milo table lamp - 1 light source - White / Polished Nickel / Pink shade Elstead

Milo is a table lamp from Elstead Lighting's own range: a white, glossy ceramic base shaped like a bottle, with a rounded body and a long, slender neck, stands on a polished nickel foot. It is topped with a fabric drum shade in the Overture Thistle pattern — a cream geometric lattice on a muted pink ground.

Size and placement

The lamp is 69 cm tall including the shade, and both the shade and the base are 36 cm across. On a chest of drawers, bedside table or desk it therefore needs a surface at least 36 cm wide — the figure to compare with the space you have. The lamp weighs 5.1 kg.

It runs from a plug, so no installation is needed — just a socket within reach of the cable. It is protection class I, so it should be plugged into an earthed socket.

Bulb and light

The lamp takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W. The bulb is not included. The manufacturer states compatibility with dimmable smart bulbs — the brightness is then adjusted through the bulb itself, controlled for example from an app. As a matching accessory it names the clear Litec E27 A60 LED bulb, sold separately.

The 14-inch (36 cm) shade is made of fabric on a laminated lining. The laminate keeps the drum shape rigid, and the light leaves mainly through the top and bottom of the shade, lighting the surface below the lamp; it glows softly through the fabric and brings out the pattern.

Style and variants

Milo is a classic design: the turned silhouette of the ceramic base, gleaming nickel and a traditional drum shade. It is intended for the office. The Milo family offers the same base with shades in other colours and patterns, and with metalwork in aged brass.
