Mount Vernon Medium Outdoor Wall Lantern - 1 Light Source - Olde Bronze Elstead

Mount Vernon in the medium size and Olde Bronze finish is a Kichler wall lantern in aluminium coloured a dark, aged bronze — lighter, coppery wear shows along the edges of the roof and frames. Panes of clear seedy glass sit in a cage beneath a flared roof, and the arm is topped with a spiral scroll and finial.

Dimensions

The lantern is 42.6 cm high and 19.1 cm wide, with a projection of 21 cm. It is the middle size in the Mount Vernon range — the larger model is 49.5 cm, the smaller 31.8 cm — which makes it easy to match to the proportions of the door it will sit beside. The fitting weighs 2.2 kg.

Outdoor installation

The manufacturer specifies the fitting for outdoor use, and IP44 protects it from splashing water. It is Class I and is wired with an earth conductor. On the corner of a building, the separately sold C-BKT2-BROWN or C-BKT2-BLACK corner bracket comes in useful.

Inside there is one E27 socket for a bulb of up to 60 W, not included. Since the glass is clear, the bulb you choose will be visible through the panes — worth picking for its looks as well. On a dimmer, the fitting works with a dimmable bulb.
