Mount Vernon Small Outdoor Wall Lantern - 1 Light Source - Black Elstead

The small Mount Vernon wall lantern from Kichler has the same classic silhouette as the larger models in the range — a glass cage under a flared roof and an arm with a decorative scroll — in a compact size. The aluminium body is black, and the panes are clear seedy glass with fine air bubbles.

Compact size

At 31.8 cm high, 14 cm wide and 15.9 cm deep, it is the smallest of the three Mount Vernon versions. That lets it go where a larger lantern would not fit: a narrow strip of wall between a door and a window, or as a pair either side of an entrance. The fitting weighs 1.25 kg.

The IP44 rating means resistance to splashing water, and the manufacturer specifies the lantern for outdoor use. As a Class I fitting it needs an earth conductor. For the corner of a building, the C-BKT2-BLACK or C-BKT2-BROWN corner bracket can be bought separately.

Bulb

Despite its small size the lantern has a full-size E27 socket and takes a bulb of up to 60 W; the bulb is not supplied. Through the clear panes it is visible from every side, and the bubbles in the glass only softly blur it. With a dimmable bulb, the fitting can be connected to a dimmer.
