Norlys Alta 293GA E27 garden bollard, hot-dip galvanised, 49 cm

Norlys Alta 293GA is a low garden bollard made from hot-dip galvanised steel. Horizontal louvres surround a milky PMMA diffuser above its cylindrical body. The visible zinc finish and restrained shape suit Scandinavian architecture; this is the galvanised version, not the black-painted Alta.

The fitting stands 49 cm high and measures 15 cm in both width and length. It places the light close to garden level rather than on a tall lighting column. Compare that height with nearby planting and edging before choosing a position, so they do not obscure the light-emitting section. Keep the bollard beside the walking route rather than within it.

Its light distribution is rotationally symmetrical, with shielding from above. It can illuminate the surroundings of garden paths, terrace edges and driveways, including outdoor grounds at hotels and restaurants. The simple steel form works with contemporary and Scandinavian buildings, while the exposed zinc surface can relate to industrial metal details.

Choose a replaceable E27 LED bulb

Alta takes one E27 LED bulb rated at no more than 9 W, in the A55–A60 format. The installation manual specifies a maximum bulb height of 110 mm. Check the physical dimensions as well as the socket when selecting a lamp; an E27 base alone does not confirm that it will fit.

The standard fitting does not include a bulb; Norlys offers a separately ordered configuration with a lamp. Brightness, colour temperature and any dimming capability depend on the chosen bulb. The milky diffuser does not determine its light colour. The user can replace the lamp in accordance with the manual, after disconnecting the power.

Plan the mounting surface and electrical connection

This IP65 outdoor fitting operates on 220–240 V. Its base has three 9 mm mounting holes spaced at 120° on a 65 mm bolt circle. Choose the fixing method for the actual ground or foundation; anchors and adapters are separate accessories. Installation and wiring should be carried out by an electrician following the Norlys instructions.
