NORLYS Borg Bollard 6191AL bollard light, light grey RAL 9006, LED 16 W 4000 K, 105 cm

Borg Bollard 6191AL is a 105 cm bollard light: a slim 7.6 cm diameter tube topped with a flat 20 cm disc. The cast aluminium is powder-coated in light grey RAL 9006. Light leaves through a satin PMMA diffuser just below the disc and spreads evenly all around the bollard.

How much light it gives and how it is controlled

The source is a Cree LED module at 4000 K, a neutral white that is cooler than a traditional incandescent bulb, with a colour rendering index of Ra 80. The fitting draws 16 W and delivers 1396 lm, more than one and a half times an old 60 W bulb, and a ULOR of 0% means all of that light goes below the disc, onto the ground and the area around the bollard. The satin diffuser softens it, so the source does not dazzle people walking past.

The fitting is phase-dimmable on both the trailing edge and the leading edge, so it works with either common type of dimmer. The family also includes a 3000 K version (6190) and a 4000 K version controlled over DALI-2 (6193).

Mounting and wiring

The bollard is fixed according to the supplied installation instructions, and Norlys sells the ground parts separately: the ground anchor (202), the concrete anchor (203) and the concrete foundation adapter (201). The fitting weighs 3.44 kg.

As a class I luminaire it needs a protective earth conductor. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 4 mm² and allow loop-through to the next fitting (also up to 3 × 4 mm²), and the gland takes a cable 8–12.5 mm in diameter. With an inrush current of 2 A / 50 µs, Norlys allows 31 fittings on a B 10 A circuit breaker, 50 on B 16 A, 52 on C 10 A and 58 on C 16 A — which decides how many bollards one circuit carries.

Durability and servicing

IP65 lets the bollard stand outdoors uncovered, and its impact resistance is IK08. The LED module and driver are replaced by a professional service; Norlys offers the ZS6191 service kit for this fitting. The maker states a module lifetime above 102,000 h (L80) and above 52,600 h (L90), and 50,000 h for the driver. Norlys intends Borg Bollard for gardens, private grounds and public areas, and our catalogue also lists it for hotels and restaurants.
