Halden 510AL is an outdoor wall light shaped like half a dome, made of cast aluminium powder-coated light grey, RAL 9006. It is 31 cm wide and 15 cm tall and projects 15.5 cm from the wall. The flat underside is closed by a clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser with a textured surface.
How it lights
Light leaves only through the underside and spreads downwards in a hemisphere. The manufacturer states ULOR 0% and a BUG rating of B0-U1-G0, so nothing shines above the light: it lights the wall below, a threshold, steps or a gate rather than the sky or a window on the floor above. The textured diffuser spreads the light.
Which bulb
The light has one E27 lampholder and takes a bulb of A55–A60 shape, as an LED of up to 9 W. No light source is included, so you choose its brightness and colour yourself; a large globe or a long candle bulb will not fit. The bulb is replaced by the user. The fitting has no built-in driver, so whether it dims depends on the bulb and the dimmer.
Mounting and connection
The light hangs on an intermediate plate screwed to the wall through two 7 × 10 mm adjustment slots spaced 100 mm apart, which lets you level it after fixing. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter enters through an EPDM gland, and lights can be looped through with cable up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several on one wall run from a single supply. It is a class I fitting and must be connected to the protective earth conductor.
IP65 means a dust-tight housing protected against water jets, and a silicone gasket seals the body. The diffuser and gaskets are available as spare parts. The light weighs 1.8 kg.
Where it fits
It lights walls and facades, entrances, balconies, fence and gate pillars, and the fronts of hotels and restaurants. The smooth dome without ornament is a Scandinavian-style form.
