Norlys Trysil 1037BL black double-arm LED lamp post, 34 W 4000 K, 400 cm

Trysil 1037BL is a four-metre lamp post made from aluminium profile, ending at the top in a Y-shaped fork with two horizontal light bars. It is powder-coated black all over (RAL 9005), and the two arms span 118 cm. It is a complete post-top luminaire with integrated LED – there is no separate pole or head to choose.

Height, span and installation

At 400 cm the light comes from the same height the manufacturer used for its photometry (H = 4 m), so the post suits avenues, driveways and larger open areas rather than a flower bed by the terrace. The arms span 118 cm and need clear space above the path – a figure to compare with the width of the path and the nearest branches.

The post weighs 28.5 kg and stands on a base plate bolted to a foundation. The B-50 concrete foundation (article 3091GA) and the sealed junction box with a 6 A fuse (article 7666ZX) are not included – the manufacturer sells them separately. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 4 mm², with loop-through to further posts at up to 3 × 2.5 mm². The luminaire is protection class I, so it needs a protective earth connection; installation is done by a licensed electrician.

How much light, and what kind

Four LED modules draw 34 W in total and deliver 3448 lm of luminaire flux – roughly what four old 60 W bulbs gave, spread over two arms. 4000 K is neutral white light in which paving and planting look natural, and CRI 80 is sufficient for footpaths and entrances.

The light is diffuse and aimed downwards: only 0.4% of the flux escapes upwards (BUG rating B1-U2-G1), which limits glow into the sky and into neighbours' windows. The luminaire can be dimmed with a phase dimmer, either trailing edge or leading edge.

Build and servicing

The diffusers are clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate, and silicone gaskets give IP65 protection – the luminaire withstands rain and water jets from any direction. IK10 impact resistance matters in publicly accessible places such as car parks and estate paths.

The manufacturer states an L80 LED lifetime of 102,000 hours. The LED modules and driver are not user-replaceable – replacement is carried out by a professional service.
