Nowodvorski EYE L 8800 brass pendant light, GU10

Nowodvorski EYE L 8800 is a single pendant light with a long, narrow cylinder made from solid brass. Its black ceiling canopy and cable contrast with the metal body, while the open lower end directs light towards the surface below rather than through a surrounding glass shade.

A slender pendant with a 40 cm body

The cylindrical body measures 40 cm high and 5.5 cm across, with a maximum overall pendant height of 120 cm. Before choosing its position, compare that drop with the distance between your ceiling and the table or worktop. The small diameter takes up little horizontal space, but the length still matters for sightlines and clearance beneath the fitting.

This shape can provide an individual accent over a small table or supplement lighting above a kitchen island and dining area. It can also be used as supplementary lighting in living rooms, bedrooms, offices, studies, hotels and restaurants. A single light point should not, by itself, be taken as a promise of sufficient general illumination for a whole room.

Choose the GU10 LED separately

The fitting requires one replaceable GU10 R50 LED lamp rated at no more than 10 W. No light source is included. Check the bulb's lumen output, colour temperature and beam angle when buying it: those choices determine brightness, the colour of the light and how wide an area it covers. The brass finish does not automatically produce warm-white light, and the open tube is not an all-round diffusing shade.

Solid brass and ceiling installation

Its simple cylinder, solid brass and painted steel suit modern and minimalist interiors. The manufacturer notes that brass can show small variations in colour and surface appearance and is subject to oxidation. Allow for that possibility when placing several fittings together.

This indoor pendant uses a ceiling mounting bracket and requires electrical connection by a suitably qualified person. The package contains the fitting and instructions; the specified LED light source must be purchased separately before the pendant can be used.
