Outdoor Wall Light NORLYS Asker Big 1303BL black E27 up/down

Asker Big 1303BL is an outdoor wall light shaped as a plain rectangular block of cast aluminium, powder-coated black (RAL 9005). Light leaves through the top and the bottom, behind transparent textured polycarbonate lenses, so the fitting throws two beams onto the wall: one upwards, one downwards. It takes a single E27 lamp that you choose yourself.

Dimensions and wall mounting

The body is 30.2 cm wide and 12.5 cm high and projects 12.1 cm from the wall — a figure to compare with the free strip of wall beside a door or between windows. The fitting weighs 2.7 kg. It is fixed either through a mounting plate with two 5 × 10 mm adjustment slots at 45 mm spacing, which let you correct its position after drilling, or directly through two ø5 mm holes at 68 mm spacing.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and up to 3 × 1.5 mm² when the supply is looped through, so several wall lights can run from one line. An EPDM gland seals a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. The fitting is protection class I and must be connected to a protective earth.

Which lamp and what light

Inside there is one E27 lampholder for an A55–A60 shaped LED lamp of up to 9 W. The lamp is not included: colour temperature and brightness are chosen with the lamp, and replacing it needs no service visit, because Norlys designed it to be changed by the user. Norlys pairs this fitting with a Philips Master LEDbulb 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K — warm light as bright as an old 60 W bulb.

Half of the light goes upwards (ULOR 50%) and half downwards, so the fitting draws a symmetrical band of light on the façade above and below itself.

Durability and intended use

IP65 means the housing is dust-tight and resists water jets, so the light can hang on a wall with no canopy above it. Impact resistance IK08 matters where the fitting is within arm's reach. It operates from −20 to +45 °C, and the lens polycarbonate is UV-stabilised, which prepares it for constant exposure to sunlight.

Norlys intends Asker Big for lighting walls and façades: beside the front door, on a terrace or balcony wall, on hotel and restaurant frontages. The smooth, unornamented block suits modern, modernist architecture.
