Outdoor wall light NORLYS Basel 672GA hot-dip galvanised LED 9.5W 4000K with motion sensor

Basel 672GA is a flat, rectangular NORLYS outdoor wall light with a built-in microwave motion sensor. A hot-dip galvanised steel front frames a satin safety-glass diffuser crossed by two horizontal bands, and the base is powder-coated cast aluminium.

Motion and twilight sensor

The fitting contains an HC005S microwave sensor with a twilight switch and hold time: the light switches on when it detects movement while daylight is insufficient, and switches off once the set time passes without movement. There is no need for a separate sensor on the facade or for extra wiring to one.

According to the sensor manufacturer's datasheet, sensitivity is set in five steps from 10 to 100%, the hold time from 5 seconds to 30 minutes, and the daylight threshold from 2 to 50 lux, or it can be disabled. The response range, the on-time and the moment the light starts working at dusk can therefore be matched to the mounting spot.

Light and light source

The integrated Philips Fortimo LED module draws 9.5 W and delivers 1150 lm at 4000 K, a neutral white that is noticeably cooler than a traditional bulb. That is more light than an old 60 W bulb, which gave about 800 lm. The satin glass spreads it evenly, so individual LEDs are not visible.

The manufacturer states an L70 lifetime above 50,000 hours. The source is not user-replaceable: the LED module is changed by a professional service, and Norlys offers repair kit ZS671zx0009 for this fitting.

Dimensions and installation

The wall light is 31 cm high, 21 cm wide and 13 cm deep, and weighs 2.9 kg. It is screwed to the wall through two ø4.5 mm holes spaced 138 × 50 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², or up to 3 × 1.5 mm² when looping through, so several fittings on one wall can run from a single supply line; the cable gland takes round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter.

The fitting is protection class I and must be connected to a protective earth conductor, and installation and servicing should be done by a suitably qualified person. IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction. The plain rectangular body without ornament suits a modern style and fits a house facade, an entrance or a garden.
