JUST LIGHT MARIA 15403-95 is a silver LED ceiling light with a curling ribbon-shaped body beneath a round ceiling plate. A pale illuminated strip follows the curves instead of using separate lampshades. Its sculptural outline makes it an option for a contemporary interior where a visible ceiling fitting is wanted without a cable-suspended pendant.

Allow for the curved body

The fitting measures 61 cm long, 24.5 cm wide and 27 cm high. The length is not its drop from the ceiling: this is a projecting ceiling light rather than a flat panel. Compare the 27 cm height with the clearance available at home, particularly in a passage or near a door that opens beneath the proposed position.

The manufacturer lists living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways among its applications, together with office interiors. In a narrow room, the orientation of the elongated body is worth considering as well as its footprint. The silver finish and continuous curves support a modern scheme without the separate arms and bulb holders of a traditional chandelier.

Warm white light with three brightness settings

The integrated LED source is included, so there is no separate screw-base bulb to select. Its 3000 K colour temperature gives warm white light. The documentation distinguishes the source output of 2200 lm from the complete luminaire output of 1100 lm. Compare like-for-like output figures when deciding how it relates to another ceiling light.

Switchmo changes brightness through repeated operation of the wall switch. The available steps are 100%, 50% and 12%; this is stepped control rather than continuous dimming. It allows a choice between full and reduced output without changing the light source. Brightness adjustment should not be confused with colour-temperature adjustment: this variant is specified at 3000 K. The installation instructions specify a 230 V mains supply and 18 W total power.
