Penn Station is a semi-flush ceiling light by Quoizel, distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting. An inverted clear glass bowl hangs just below the ceiling on flat steel straps in a brushed brass finish. The canopy and the lampholder stem share that finish, and the stem is engraved with the designer's name, Sergio Orozco.
How big it is and which ceilings it suits
The fitting is 26.7 cm high and 33 cm in diameter. Unlike a pendant, it has no cord or chain to adjust – the whole body sits a fixed 26.7 cm below the ceiling. With a 250 cm ceiling, the bottom of the bowl ends up about 223 cm above the floor, which is why this type of fitting is chosen where a pendant would hang too low.
It weighs 2.05 kg. It is a Class I fitting, so the installation point must have an earth conductor.
What light it gives
Inside there is one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W. The bulb is not included. The bowl is clear, so the bulb stays visible and shapes how the lamp looks when lit – the manufacturer recommends a clear A60 E27 LED bulb of 8 W, 800 lm and 3000 K, sold separately. 800 lm matches an old 60 W bulb, and 3000 K is warm white. The fitting works with dimmable bulbs; dimming also requires a dimmer switch.
Where it fits
Penn Station is made for indoor use – for bedrooms and dining rooms. The range offers the same semi-flush light in brushed nickel and Western Bronze too, so it can be matched to door handles or taps in a different metal.
