Pratt is a Hinkley wall spotlight: a cylindrical metal head with a clear glass lens at the front, mounted on a knuckle joint by a round wall plate. A knurled ring runs round the lower part of the head, and the aluminium body is finished in Heritage Brass — a warm, slightly muted brass.
Size and fitting
The spotlight is 31.8 cm high, 14 cm wide and 14 cm deep; it weighs 1.27 kg. The head pivots on its joint, so the beam can be aimed at a section of façade, a house number or a door rather than just straight down.
The manufacturer specifies it for exterior use, and IP44 protects it against splashing water. It is Class I and needs an earth connection. For mounting on the corner of a building, the C-BKT2-BROWN or C-BKT2-BLACK corner bracket is available separately.
Lamp included
Inside is a GU10 socket, and an 8 W LED lamp with 560 lm output and a 3000 K colour temperature comes in the box. That is a warm white, and 560 lm is less than an old 60 W bulb (about 800 lm) — the amount of light suited to picking out a feature, not to lighting a whole driveway. The GU10 lamp can later be swapped for another of up to 8 W; dimming needs a dimmable lamp and a dimmer.
The cylindrical form, knurled detail and brass colour give the spotlight a retro character. The Pratt range also includes a version with two heads shining up and down.
