Quintiesse Alford Place outdoor pendant lantern, 3 × E14, black

Alford Place QN-ALFORD-PLACE8-L-MB is an outdoor pendant lantern in the Quintiesse range, from the Hinkley collection. Its Museum Black aluminium frame surrounds clear glass panels and three candle-style lamp holders. A glazed pitched roof and chain suspension give the lantern a traditional outline without concealing the chosen bulbs.

Allow for the complete hanging height

The lantern body is 49.5 cm high and 30.5 cm in diameter. That body measurement is not the installed hanging height: the manufacturer specifies an overall drop of 61 to 216.7 cm, adjusted during installation. A 152.4 cm chain is included.

Compare the complete drop with the ceiling height and the clearance needed below the lantern. At an entrance, allow for the door swing as well as people passing underneath. The 30.5 cm diameter also helps you judge the lantern's proportions against the overhead structure. Installation-time adjustment should not be confused with a mechanism for raising and lowering the fitting every day.

Choose three E14 bulbs separately

There are three E14 sockets, each rated for a maximum 40 W lamp. Bulbs are not included. With clear glazing, their shape remains part of the visible design, while the chosen light colour affects the illumination. The candle-shaped bulbs shown in the photographs illustrate the fitting and do not represent included components.

The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps. Brightness control therefore depends on using suitable bulbs and compatible controls. This is not an integrated LED lantern, so it has no single fixed colour temperature determined by an inbuilt module.

A ceiling-mounted lantern for outdoor spaces

The manufacturer specifies exterior use and an IP44 rating, explicitly identifying entrance areas as an application. A covered terrace, balcony or gazebo can also be considered where the mounting conditions and available height suit the fitting. Its Class I electrical construction requires a protective earth connection.

Black framing, transparent glass and the candle-style arrangement suit traditional architecture and restrained modern-classic schemes. The manufacturer states a three-year anti-corrosion guarantee. That is a specific guarantee scope, not a claim of unrestricted resistance to every outdoor condition.
