VT-61024SQ-S is a square LED panel for recessed installation in a suspended ceiling, 29.5 cm to a side and only 2.86 cm thick. It uses backlit technology — the Samsung diodes are spread across the whole face of the panel rather than sitting along the edges as in cheaper edge-lit designs. The difference is visible: the luminous surface is even, with no brighter bands near the frame and no darker centre.

The light

The panel draws 24 W and delivers 2640 lumens, an efficacy of 110 lm/W — enough for a single panel to replace a sizeable louvred fitting. At 4000 K the light is neutral white: it does not yellow a room the way warm white does, nor chill it the way 6500 K does, which makes it a good fit for shops, offices, receptions, corridors and work areas. Colour rendering is above 80, with an R9 value of 15. Colour consistency falls within a 6-step MacAdam ellipse (SDCM 6), so panels from one batch light with a closely matching tint.

Installation

The panel is designed for suspended and plasterboard ceilings — it slides into a prepared aperture and sprung clips pull the frame tight against the board. The driver is supplied with the fitting and connects to the 230 V feed; there is nothing to specify separately. The IP20 rating limits it to dry rooms — the panel is not suitable for bathroom zones exposed to direct water contact, nor for outdoor use.

Where it works

A 30 × 30 cm square is an intermediate format: smaller than the classic 60 × 60 cm panel, yet bright enough to light a till point, a display case, a stretch of corridor, a kitchen or a small office. Several panels laid out on a grid build even general lighting without any conspicuous fittings. The panel is not dimmable, so the light level is set by how many you install and where, rather than by a control.
