The Rendl LOYD E27 I is a ceiling light with a round black canopy and a flexible arm in a silicone sleeve that ends in an exposed E27 lampholder. The arm bends in any direction, so the bulb does not have to hang straight below the ceiling outlet.
Size and positioning the arm
Rendl gives a height of 109 cm and a diameter of 8 cm. Because the arm is flexible, the lampholder can be stopped higher or lower, moved to the side or angled — over a worktop or a table, for example — without moving the junction box in the ceiling. The lamp weighs 1 kg and connects directly to the 230 V mains.
Choosing the bulb
No bulb is included. The E27 lampholder takes a lamp of up to 15 W, and Rendl recommends a decorative or reflector bulb. Because the lampholder is exposed, the bulb shapes the look of the light: a large globe or filament lamp becomes a visible decorative element, while a reflector lamp concentrates the light in one direction. The light can be dimmed if you fit a dimmable bulb and a suitable dimmer.
Where it fits
The black arm and bare lampholder give the lamp a modern, industrial character. It suits living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, over a dining table or a kitchen island, hallways and staircases, as well as hotels, restaurants and shops. The LOYD range also comes in beige grey.
