The medium Ripley is an outdoor LED wall lantern by the American brand Kichler: a flat conical shade hung from a square-section arm, braced by a diagonal rod and fixed to a round backplate. It is made of black aluminium. It is distributed by Elstead Lighting.
For facades: IP44 and downward light
IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, so the lantern can be mounted on an exterior wall. The shade is opaque and sends all the light downwards — the manufacturer points out that the fitting follows DarkSky principles for reducing light pollution. What gets lit is a band of wall and the ground below, not the neighbours' windows.
Light source
The integrated 8 W LED module gives 813 lm, roughly what an old 60 W bulb did. 3000 K is a warm white, and CRI 93 renders the colours of walls and planting faithfully. The module is part of the fitting, so there is no bulb to buy or change. According to the Polish data sheet, the lantern is dimmable.
Size and installation
The lantern is 23.5 cm high, the shade 25.4 cm wide, and it projects 28.6 cm from the wall; it weighs 0.77 kg. Check that projection against the swing of a door leaf or shutter. It is a Class I fitting and must be connected to earth.
Style
The manufacturer describes Ripley as craftsman-style architecture pared down to clean, minimal forms: a cone, a straight arm and a round plate bearing the brand logo. The black finish suits modern exteriors, while the form itself recalls classic workshop lights.
