Ripley Small Outdoor Wall Lantern - 1 Light Source - Black by Elstead

The small Ripley LED wall lantern by Kichler is a black aluminium outdoor light built from three plain elements: a round backplate bearing the brand logo, a square-section arm with a diagonal brace, and a flat conical shade. It is distributed by Elstead Lighting.

The smaller size

The small version is 19.1 cm high, with a 20.3 cm shade and 23.5 cm projection, and weighs 0.7 kg — a few centimetres down on the medium Ripley. That size suits a narrow pier, the wall by a garden gate or a spot beside a window where a larger fitting would take up too much room.

Protection and installation

IP44 protects the lantern from splashing water from any direction, so it can work outdoors. It is Class I, so an earth conductor is needed for connection.

Light figures

Despite the smaller shade, the LED module is the same as in the medium version: 8 W and 813 lm, a brightness close to a 60 W bulb. Warm white 3000 K and CRI 93 give natural colours on walls and planting. The shade sends all the light downwards; the manufacturer describes the fitting as following DarkSky principles that limit light pollution. The module cannot be replaced. The Polish data sheet lists the lantern as dimmable.

Appearance

According to the manufacturer, Ripley carries craftsman architectural motifs into a minimalist form: clean geometry with no ornament and a uniform black finish. It is intended for facades and gardens.
