Echos is a dining pendant with eight smoked, mouth-blown glass shades hanging on black cables from a long rectangular canopy. The shades have a wavy, ribbed surface that breaks the light into brighter and darker bands. Because each shade is blown individually, the tone and pattern of the glass vary slightly from piece to piece.
Size and suspension
The canopy measures 160 × 25 cm and is 4 cm deep, with the cables leaving it in two rows — so the shades can be spaced evenly or staggered. Compare the 160 cm with the length of your own table: the maker intends this version for medium to large dining tables. Each shade is 18 cm in diameter and 20 cm tall.
The cables are 150 cm long and are shortened during installation, usually so that the lower edges of the shades hang 70–80 cm above the tabletop. The maker recommends six screws for fixing the canopy.
Light sources
The pendant has eight E27 lampholders, each for a bulb of up to 40 W. Bulbs are not included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself — through smoked glass the light comes out darker and warmer than from the bare bulb. The fitting can be dimmed, provided the bulbs are dimmable and a dimmer is installed on the circuit.
It is a protection class I fitting running on 230 V, so an earth conductor is needed at the ceiling box.
Which interiors it suits
The maker intends Echos for above a dining table and a kitchen island, as well as for living rooms and bedrooms. The black hardware and smoked glass give a modern, minimalist look with no ornament. The same series offers clear, brown and mixed shades, and a version with a white canopy and cables.
