s.luce Made Ring XL LED Pendant Light Ø120 cm 53W 4000K Dimmable Custom RAL Lacquer

The s.luce Made Ring XL is a suspended aluminium ring 120 cm across, hung on steel cables. The ring profile is 8 cm high and only 1 cm thick, and the light comes from a built-in LED strip running around the whole circumference. This variant is lacquered in a RAL shade chosen by the buyer, and every piece is made to order in Germany.

How big the ring is and where it hangs

At 120 cm across, the ring describes a circle of just over 1.1 m² on the ceiling, and its lit edge is almost 3.8 m long. Compare that with the floor plan of the room, not with one piece of furniture. The manufacturer intends it for foyers, stairwells, galleries open to the floor above and offices, and says it also works above a conference table. It also suits a living room large enough for that diameter.

The suspension is up to 5 m and can be shortened, so the ring can sit close under the ceiling or hang low in a tall stairwell. The ceiling canopy and steel cables are included. The suspension is eccentric: the cables do not meet above the centre of the ring.

How much light it gives

The LED strip draws 53 W and delivers 5264 lm, about as much as six or seven old 60 W bulbs together. 4000 K is a neutral white with no yellow cast, suited to working areas. A colour rendering index above Ra 90 means colours under this light look close to how they appear in daylight.

The light source is included and built into the ring, so there are no bulbs to fit. The manufacturer rates it at 25,000 hours, about 22 years at three hours a day. The fitting can be dimmed with a phase-cut dimmer, either leading-edge or trailing-edge.

Colour made to order

In this version the ring has no catalogue colour: the lacquer is chosen from the RAL range. The manufacturer recommends picking the shade in daylight from a physical colour fan, because a screen renders colours differently. The stock finishes of the series (aluminium, black, white, gold and metal leaf) are separate variants.

A plain ring without decoration, a single colour and thin cables give it a modern, minimalist form. A stronger strip, light-colour control and DALI are paid extras, not part of this product.
