The s.luce Orb 172271 is a table lamp built around a hand-blown glass sphere measuring 40 cm across. This version has a smoked gradient rather than uniformly smoked glass. A low black metal ring supports the globe, while its glossy surface reflects the surrounding room.
Allow space for the whole globe
The lamp measures 40 cm in height, width and length. Before placing it on a sideboard, shelf or occasional table, compare those dimensions with the furniture depth and the clear space above it. The small support ring does not indicate the lamp's overall footprint: the glass projects well beyond the base.
Orb works as a decorative table light on a living-room cabinet or a suitably sized bedroom table. Its sphere and shallow ring form a restrained composition suited to modern and minimalist interiors. Include the visible supply cable when planning the arrangement, rather than measuring only the glass and its support.
Your bulb determines the light
A single E27 holder takes a separately purchased bulb rated up to 40 W. Brightness and colour temperature depend on that bulb; the smoked finish is not a specification of warm or cool light. The source remains visible through the lighter part of the glass, so the bulb's shape also contributes to the illuminated appearance.
Check the bulb dimensions and the opening in the globe as well as the cap and wattage. The decorative bulb shown in the photograph illustrates one possible arrangement but is not included. This is a replaceable-bulb fitting, not a lamp with a fixed LED colour temperature.
What is supplied
The package contains the Orb glass globe, its table-lamp base and a holder with cable, switch and plug. The textile-covered cable connects the lamp to a 230 V supply, with switching on the cable. The globe rests on the supplied ring; it is not the pendant version of Orb and does not require a ceiling canopy.
