s.luce Velo 8-Light Chandelier, Multicolour Ø20 cm Glass Shades, Black 160 cm Canopy

s.luce Velo combines eight mouth-blown glass shades beneath an elongated black ceiling canopy. This multicolour version brings clear, smoked and brown glass together, with vertical ribbing providing a common pattern across the shades.

Shade size and suspension length

Each shade measures 20 cm in diameter and 20 cm in height. These measurements describe the individual glass bodies: the ceiling canopy measures 160 × 25 × 4 cm. Compare its 160 cm length with your table and the available ceiling space. Eight pendants are arranged in two rows, so allow for the width of the whole composition rather than just one shade.

The 150 cm suspension can be shortened to suit the room height. It does not have to remain at its full 150 cm drop. The manufacturer identifies large dining tables and living spaces as applications. A usual reference is to place the lower edge of the shades 70–80 cm above the tabletop, adjusting the suspension to the particular room.

Choosing bulbs and dimming

There are eight E27 sockets, each rated for a bulb of up to 40 W. Bulbs are not included, so eight need to be purchased separately. Their output and colour temperature determine the light you receive. Their shapes are also visible through the clear and tinted glass.

Dimming is possible with suitable light sources. To use this function, choose dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer. The fitting operates at 230 V and is protection class I, which requires a protective earth connection.

Glass and metal construction

The glass shades are paired with metal suspension components. Vertical ribbing distinguishes Velo from smooth globe pendants. Straight black cables and the elongated canopy keep the supporting structure visually simple. Open undersides allow light to travel directly down onto the table, while the different glass colours remain visible even with the bulbs switched off.
