s.luce Velo Brown Glass Ceiling Light, E27, 25 cm

The brown s.luce Velo ceiling light pairs a 25 cm hand-blown glass shade with vertical ribs and a black metal base. The bulb remains visible through the tinted glass, so its appearance matters as well as its light output. This is a single-light fitting mounted directly at the ceiling, rather than a pendant with a long drop.

A 25 cm footprint with a 30 cm drop

This version measures 25 cm across and 30 cm in height. When choosing its position, check both dimensions against the space and consider where the bottom edge will sit above the floor. Velo is not a flat ceiling disc: its rounded glass body projects below the base and gives the fitting a visible profile from the side.

The manufacturer identifies living rooms, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms as suitable applications. Direct ceiling mounting offers an alternative to a hanging lamp where you do not want a suspended cable. Whether one light point provides enough illumination will also depend on the bulb you select, the size of the room and any other lighting used there.

One replaceable E27 bulb

There is one E27 socket, and no bulb is supplied. Purchase a light source separately, observing the manufacturer's stated 40 W limit. Brightness and colour temperature are therefore choices you make with the bulb, rather than fixed characteristics of an integrated LED module. A visible filament can also complement the vertical pattern of the glass.

Dimming is possible with a suitable light source. To use this function, choose a dimmable bulb and compatible control equipment. An E27 socket does not by itself make every bulb fitted into it dimmable.

Brown glass with a black mounting detail

The rounded shade, repeated vertical ribs and restrained black base support a modern interior scheme. Its brown tint remains part of the appearance when the light is switched off, while the metal base defines the ceiling connection. Velo puts the emphasis on the texture of a single glass shade rather than branching arms or a multi-shade arrangement.
