Sandvik 1732WH up-and-down outdoor wall light, white RAL 9003, LED 16 W 3000 K – Norlys

Sandvik 1732WH is a box-shaped outdoor wall light that shines up and down at the same time. The body is cast aluminium powder-coated in white (RAL 9003), and both light outlets are closed with clear safety glass. On the wall it reads as a plain, smooth block without ornament, with two narrow bands of light drawn above and below it.

Size and mounting

The light is 21 cm high and 8 cm wide, and it projects 11 cm from the wall. Compare that with the free space beside your front door or between the windows of the facade. It weighs 1.45 kg and is fixed with two screws through ø 4.5 mm holes spaced 37 × 97.5 mm apart.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the lights can be looped through with cable up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several units on one facade can run from a single circuit. The supply enters as a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The light is protection class I, so it must be connected to a protective earth conductor. For mounting on a building corner, Norlys offers corner bracket 148XX0009, sold separately.

How much light, and what kind

Inside are two 8 W LED modules, 16 W in total. The sources produce 1512 lm and the complete luminaire delivers 1126 lm. At 3000 K the light is warm white, and a CRI of 80 renders the colours of the facade and plants without obvious distortion. The modules are included.

Each of the two beams is 36°, so the light does not spread wide but draws vertical streaks on the wall above and below the fitting. A ULOR of 50% means half of the luminaire's light goes upwards. With beams this narrow, it lights mainly the wall itself rather than a wide strip of ground in front of it.

Dimming, sealing and service

The light can be dimmed with a phase (TRIAC) dimmer of either the trailing-edge or the leading-edge type. IP65 allows it to be mounted outdoors without a canopy, and the IK08 impact rating protects the glass against an accidental knock.

The LED modules are not built in for good: the manufacturer provides for their replacement by an electrician and supplies a replacement module and a service kit. The light is intended for house facades and for entrances to hotels and restaurants.
