The Steinel L 835 SC is an outdoor LED wall light with a compact cube-shaped body. An anthracite wall section contrasts with the opal plastic diffuser, while the light is directed upwards and downwards. Its motion sensor is concealed within the housing rather than appearing as a separate lens on the front.
Check the space on your wall
The fitting measures 110 mm high and 110 mm wide, with a depth of 132 mm. Compare those dimensions with the available space beside an entrance or on a terrace or balcony wall before deciding where to mount it. The plain surfaces and restrained detailing suit modern and minimalist façades.
Steinel specifies outdoor wall mounting, including areas around the building and beside a driveway. This exact version is rated IP44. The optimum sensor mounting height is 2 m and the maximum is 2.5 m. Take the height and the direction from which people approach into account when choosing the installation point, rather than judging placement only by appearance.
Built-in light and automatic operation
The integrated LED system uses 9.1 W and the complete fitting delivers 616 lm. A colour temperature of 3000 K provides warm white light. The light source is included and cannot be replaced, so this is not a fitting for a separately chosen bulb.
The iHF sensor covers a 160° angle, with adjustable reach from 1 to 5 m. Its 2–2000 lx twilight setting determines the ambient brightness at which automatic switching operates. The stay-on time after detected movement can be set between 5 seconds and 60 minutes.
Settings through STEINEL Connect
The app provides control of basic and main lighting, soft light start, continuous lighting and schedules. Bluetooth Mesh allows compatible lights to be grouped for joint control instead of being adjusted separately. Mounting accessories are included. Both the housing and opal cover are plastic; the manual recommends cleaning with a damp cloth without detergents.
