Tabby is a mini pendant by Feiss (Generation Lighting), distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting. The shade is a clear glass globe, while the lampholder, chain and ceiling canopy are finished in Burnished Brass — brass with a warm, satin sheen.
Dimensions and hanging height
The glass globe is 21.6 cm in diameter and the fitting itself is 30.8 cm tall. It is a small pendant that can hang on its own over a small table or in a row of several over a kitchen island or a longer table.
The fitting hangs on a 152.4 cm chain, and the overall height from the ceiling ranges from 44.5 to 196.9 cm. Such a wide range lets it suit both a low room and a high ceiling. Over a table the lower edge of the shade is usually set 70–80 cm above the top. The pendant weighs 1.8 kg.
Bulb and light
The pendant has one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W. The bulb is not included. Because the shade is clear, the bulb stays fully visible — the manufacturer designed the pendant around exposed lamping, so a decorative bulb, for example one with a visible filament, is the natural choice. Clear glass does not diffuse the light, so with a bright bulb a lower-output model or dimming is worth considering.
The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs — dimming requires a dimmable bulb and a dimmer. The pendant is Class I, so it must be connected with an earth conductor.
Where it fits
The pendant is intended for the dining room and for over a kitchen island. It is for indoor use only and is made of steel and clear glass.
