Thoro BISCUIT TH.689 is a white aluminium desk lamp built around a low cylindrical base and two gently curved shade surfaces. The surfaces meet above the integrated LED source, giving the lamp a recognisable profile even when it is switched off. It is a compact tabletop light rather than a tall task lamp with a projecting arm.
Check the surface space and socket position
The lamp is 15 cm high, with the other dimensions measuring 13 × 12 cm. Compare that footprint with the space beside your book, paperwork or monitor before choosing its position. Because the light sits close to the tabletop, consider the location of the area you want to illuminate as well as whether the lamp itself fits.
The manufacturer's drawing specifies a 6 cm base diameter and a 180 cm power cable. Measure the route the cable will actually take to the socket, including any diversion around furniture. This white version has a matching white cable, with an inline switch that should remain within reach after placement.
An included LED source with warm-white light
The light source is included: this version does not require you to select an E27 or G9 bulb. Thoro specifies 6 W, a luminous flux of 755 lm and a colour temperature of 3000 K. The latter identifies warm-white light and provides a useful comparison with other lights in the room. The stated CRI of 93 describes colour rendering by the source; it does not specify illuminance at a particular point on your desk.
A low-profile light for more than one surface
Thoro identifies evening desk work, bedside use and placement on a living-room sideboard or shelf as uses for BISCUIT. The white aluminium shade and simple base suit modern and minimalist interiors, while the curved surfaces introduce a distinct detail without a high frame above the furniture. The lamp operates from a 230 V mains supply and has a switch, so it is not a rechargeable cordless light. It is made in Poland and carries a five-year manufacturer's warranty.
