Zambelis E494 is a brown garden spike light distinguished by an open ring-shaped head. Its slender aluminium stem and polycarbonate diffuser give it a restrained, contemporary appearance, with the opening at the centre remaining part of the design when the light is switched on.
A tilting head rather than a fixed spotlight
The head tilts upwards and downwards, allowing its angle to be changed in relation to a neighbouring border or pathway without repositioning the whole fitting. This adjustment concerns the head, not the height of the stem. The illuminated ring also gives the fixture a different appearance from a conventional spotlight with a solid front face.
The built-in LED uses 7 W and produces warm white light at 3000 K. Zambelis specifies 245 lm and CRI 80. Consider this output when planning local garden lighting rather than assuming one fitting will illuminate an entire driveway. The light is non-dimmable, an important distinction when choosing how the outdoor circuit will be controlled.
Check the dimensions against your planting
The manufacturer's sheet gives overall dimensions of 70 cm high, 16 cm long and 12 cm wide. The ring itself measures 12 cm in diameter and 1.5 cm in height. Compare these measurements with nearby plants and the edge of the path before deciding on a position. The installation drawing shows the spike inserted into soft ground; it does not show direct fixing to paving or terrace slabs.
The brown finish, narrow upright and geometric head suit modern and minimalist gardens. It can accompany pathways or planting beside a terrace, with the fitting positioned outside the walking route.
Included parts and electrical installation
The spike, waterproof connector, driver and 50 cm cable are included. The fitting has an IP65 rating and a 220–240 V supply specification. Allow for the short cable when locating the connection point. Installation must be carried out by a professional electrician with the supply switched off. The integrated LED is not a replaceable bulb: the instructions reserve replacement of the light source to the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person.
